In this world we live in powered by internet connectivity in almost all aspects of life it’s not surprising that  information is the foundation of our future. Which is why I decided to enroll in this class to get to know more about this digital world. But before I get started, here are some fun facts i found on the web.

1. On eBay, there is an average of $680 worth of transactions every second.

2. Ninety-one percent of all adults have their mobile phone within arm’s reach every hour of every day.

3. There are 6.8 billion people on the planet and 4 billion of them use a mobile phone. Only 3.5 billion of them use a toothbrush.

4. Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, as well as Apple have one not so obvious thing in common – they were all started in a garage.

5. Twenty-five percent of Americans use only a mobile device to use the Internet.

6. Every minute, 100 hours of video are uploaded on YouTube by individual users.

This class is really fun and informative but due to registration concerns i missed the first class sadly so i’ll be starting from the 2nd class discussion which is about number systems.
Simply put number systems are a way to represent numbers no more no less.  There where 4 number systems presented in class namely: Binary, Decimal, Octal and Hexadecimal each with their own bases representations. Our lesson also tackled conversions from one number system to another and what is confusing about this is that there are certain rules adhere to when shifting from specific topic to the next. Taking it all in one sitting sure was informative and fun and well laborious. That’s it for now! looking forward to the next lesson!
